About the Role
We're seeking a Physician Assistant to join our bariatric surgery team in New York City. This is an exceptional opportunity for new graduate PAs to gain meaningful surgical experience while supporting patients through their weight-loss journey. You'll work in an outpatient setting, collaborating closely with our surgical team to deliver comprehensive, compassionate care.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate and prepare bariatric surgery candidates through pre-operative consultations and assessments
- Assist during bariatric surgical procedures in the operating room
- Manage post-operative follow-up appointments and monitor patient recovery
- Educate patients on pre- and post-surgical protocols, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications
- Document encounters, maintain accurate medical records, and coordinate care with the surgical team
- Support patients in achieving their health and weight management goals
What We're Looking For
- Physician Assistant with PA-C certification or immediate eligibility
- New graduate PAs are actively encouraged to apply
- New York state licensure
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a surgical environment
- Genuine interest in bariatric and general surgery
