Partner Level Civil Litigation Defense Attorney

Jobot is recruiting a Partner Level Civil Litigation Defense Attorney for our client, a thriving law firm in Columbus, Franklin County, seeking a skilled advocate ready to lead complex cases and take ownership of client relationships in the defense litigation practice.

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site position with a growth-focused firm that values attorneys who drive cases from intake through resolution. You'll work on meaningful civil defense matters, managing client expectations, developing litigation strategy, and building the practice. This role offers the autonomy and income potential that comes with partner-track growth in an established firm.

What You'll Do

• Lead civil defense litigation matters, from initial client consultation through trial or settlement
• Conduct and defend depositions, preparing witnesses and developing case theory
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other civil litigation documents
• Manage case timelines, court deadlines, and client communication
• Represent clients in settlement negotiations and court proceedings
• Contribute to business development and client relationship growth
• Mentor junior attorneys and support firm operations

What We're Looking For

• Active law license to practice in Ohio (or ability to obtain)
• Substantial experience in civil defense litigation
• Demonstrated trial experience and courtroom competence
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines independently
• Business development mindset and client relationship skills
• Commitment to the practice of law and professional growth

Compensation

This position offers a competitive salary range of $140,000–$190,000 annually, commensurate with experience and case load.
