We are representing a confidential AI research organization seeking PhD-level experts for a remote contract engagement. Our talent team is building a pipeline of academics across both STEM and humanities disciplines—including English, literature, and journalism—to evaluate and refine advanced AI model reasoning.

This is a flexible, remote contract role ideal for researchers who want to apply their subject-matter expertise to cutting-edge AI development work.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated responses within your domain for accuracy, depth, and quality of reasoning
• Develop expert-level prompts, reference answers, and detailed critiques using academic standards
• Identify subtle errors, logical gaps, and instances of shallow reasoning in model outputs
• Help establish performance benchmarks and evaluation criteria for expert-level AI systems
• Apply research-grade rigor to all assessments and documentation

What We're Looking For

• PhD from a reputable university in a technical field (STEM) or humanities discipline such as English, literature, or journalism
• Undergraduate degree from a well-known university
• Minimum 1 year of professional work experience, with activity within the past 7 years
• Based in an English-speaking country
• Exceptional written English communication skills
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and precisely
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
