People Operations Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology company in the property sector, and we're searching for a People Operations Lead to join their London-based team. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in the London office with monthly travel to other UK locations (all expenses covered).

This isn't about maintaining the status quo. Our client needs someone who sees People Operations as an opportunity to build, optimize, and reimagine how things work. You'll own the operational infrastructure of the People function, managing a People Operations Specialist and reporting to the People Director.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end People operations, systems, and data across the complete colleague lifecycle including onboarding, offboarding, Right to Work compliance, colleague requests, payroll processes, and benefits administration
• Manage and develop a People Operations Specialist while ensuring operational excellence across all People processes
• Take ownership of reward infrastructure including quarterly pay reviews, salary benchmarking and banding, benefits administration, and gender pay gap reporting
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying friction points, interrogating existing processes, and building smarter, more automated solutions
• Work extensively with People data—reconciling sources, spotting inconsistencies, analyzing trends, and turning numbers into actionable insights
• Explore and implement AI and automation solutions to eliminate repetitive work and enhance operational efficiency
• Collaborate closely with People Partnering, Talent, Finance, Payroll, and Technology teams in a fast-moving environment
• Configure and optimize HRIS systems (currently Personio) and other People technology platforms

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Significant People Operations experience with proven ownership of end-to-end People processes
• Hands-on experience owning or significantly shaping People systems and data, including HRIS platforms and headcount planning systems
• Advanced Excel skills and strong numerical reasoning—comfortable reconciling complex data, spotting anomalies, and extracting meaningful insights
• Experience across reward and benefits, ideally including pay reviews, salary benchmarking, banding, and gender pay gap reporting
• Track record of continuous improvement, leveraging systems, data, and technology to enhance People Operations
• Active interest in AI and automation and their application in People functions
• Naturally curious, analytical mindset with the ability to challenge existing processes and design better solutions
• Pragmatic approach and comfort with ambiguity in fast-moving environments

Desirable:

• Experience in high-growth, scale-up, or similarly dynamic environments
• Hands-on experience building or implementing AI/agentic workflows currently in production use
• Background in accountancy, audit, management consulting, or similar analytically rigorous fields
