Commissioning Project Manager II

We are representing a confidential energy infrastructure organization seeking a Commissioning Project Manager II to oversee commissioning teams across multiple concurrent projects. This role serves as the primary liaison between owners, contractors, engineers, and internal teams while maintaining project documentation, budgets, and schedules. Responsibilities

• Manage overall project execution across multiple concurrent commissioning projects, verifying deliverable accuracy and adherence to scope
• Engage with commissioning teams and stakeholders to maintain alignment and meet client requirements efficiently
• Oversee project KPIs and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and maintain project health
• Create and manage project scope trackers, resource calendars, budgets, and forecasts throughout project duration
• Establish processes for frequent tracking and reporting of project status to clients and stakeholders
• Verify proposals and project scopes are clear, complete, and free of ambiguity for commissioning teams
• Drive corrective actions when scope or performance gaps are identified
• Support leadership by developing scopes of work and accurate task and project pricing, including participation in new project interviews
• Manage resource utilization across projects to ensure financial targets are met
• Provide training and mentoring to commissioning team members
• Lead development of commissioning tasks including Owner's Project Requirements, design review processes, commissioning specifications and plans, functional testing, and owner training
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 5+ years of commissioning or related experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, automatic temperature control systems, or building operation management
• Ability to interact professionally with owners, representatives, contractors, and design teams
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with the construction industry and competitive landscape
• Strong multitasking abilities and capacity to identify task and project priorities for timely completion

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineering Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
• 2+ years in a leadership role
• Project Management Certification (PMP, PgMP, etc.)
• Commissioning Certification (NEBB, ACG, BCxA, ASHRAE, etc.)
• Competency with cloud-based commissioning software platforms

Additional Requirements:

• Travel: 25-40% of time to job sites and office locations
• Physical activities include ascending/descending ladders and stairs, working in confined spaces, and medium work adjusting/moving objects up to 50 pounds
• Work in outdoor elements and occasionally noisy environments
