Outpatient Profee Coder

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in their search for an Outpatient Profee Coder. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work with a client that partners with physician groups, hospitals, and other healthcare providers to optimize revenue cycle operations through intelligent automation and coding excellence.

We're seeking a certified medical coding professional who is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and supporting quality patient care through expert abstraction and coding of physician services.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records thoroughly to abstract physicians' professional services and diagnosis codes utilizing ICD-10 CM and CPT coding systems
• Apply Official Coding Guidelines to assign appropriate ICD-10 CM and CPT codes and modifiers with a minimum of 98% accuracy
• Provide documentation feedback to clients and account managers regarding coding and billing issues
• Maintain up-to-date coding reference information and communicate new or revised billing and coding guidelines to providers
• Resolve pre-accounts receivable edits and identify repetitive documentation problems or system issues
• Correct incorrectly billed services, add missing unbilled services, and provide missing data as appropriate
• Collaborate with Patient Accounting and other operational areas to provide coding reimbursement assistance and support appeals when needed
• Assist in obtaining documentation such as notes and operative reports as required
• Meet established minimum coding productivity and quality standards for each encounter type

What We're Looking For

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Required: AHIMA or AAPC certification (CPC, CPC-M, CPMA, CEMC, or CCS-P preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in outpatient profee medical coding
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Advanced and proficient knowledge of ICD-10 CM and CPT coding systems
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment
• Professional-level skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Proficient typing skills with effective pace and accuracy
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Excellent communication skills for providing documentation feedback and coding guidance
