We are representing a confidential organization in the private investment banking sector that is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their team in Uruguay. In this position, you will design and develop efficient, maintainable backend solutions with a strong focus on C# and SQL, while leveraging AWS for cloud infrastructure. You'll contribute to data migrations, system integrations, and reporting solutions alongside a talented engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using C# and SQL
• Design robust software solutions, evaluating architectural approaches and technical trade-offs based on business and system requirements
• Build and optimize cloud-native applications and services using AWS
• Handle complex data migrations and transformations across multiple systems
• Rebuild, maintain, and enhance system integrations with internal and external platforms
• Contribute to reporting and analytics solutions leveraging Snowflake and related technologies
• Work independently in a dynamic environment, solving complex technical challenges with minimal oversight
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
• Clearly communicate technical decisions and the reasoning behind software design and architecture choices
• Stay current with industry trends and engineering best practices, continuously improving development processes

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering roles
• Studies in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Proficiency in C# for backend development
• Strong knowledge of SQL, including database design and query optimization
• Experience working with AWS and cloud-based architectures
• Familiarity with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge of Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics
• Experience with SQL Server and database administration
• Strong software design and architecture skills, with the ability to structure solutions, evaluate trade-offs, and explain technical decisions
• Exposure to React and TypeScript, with the ability to contribute to frontend tasks when needed
• Experience with Python for scripting, automation, or data processing is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• A positive, collaborative attitude with openness to feedback and willingness to support team members
