Oracle Projects / Grants (Functional Analyst III)

Join King County's Finance and Business Operations Department as an Oracle Projects/Grants Functional Analyst III, based in Pioneer Square. In this full-time role, you'll ensure our Oracle EBS system operates with precision and delivers accurate insights for project and grant accounting across the organization.

About the Role

King County's Financial Systems and Services Team relies on you to maintain and improve our Oracle Projects and Grants accounting environment. You'll be a key technical resource bridging business needs and system functionality, driving solutions that enhance operational efficiency and data integrity across the enterprise.

What You'll Do

• Define, document, and refine business requirements in partnership with Finance and project management stakeholders
• Configure and optimize Oracle Projects/Grants modules within our Oracle EBS environment to align with County processes
• Troubleshoot complex project accounting issues and implement timely resolutions
• Lead testing and validation of system enhancements, customizations, and patches
• Provide technical guidance to Finance team members on Oracle Projects/Grants functionality and best practices
• Support month-end and year-end close processes with system accuracy and reporting
• Collaborate with IT and vendors to evaluate and implement system improvements
• Document processes, configurations, and workarounds to support knowledge transfer

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Projects or Oracle Grants functional analyst
• Deep knowledge of Oracle EBS Projects and/or Grants modules
• Strong understanding of project accounting, grant management, and cost tracking
• Ability to gather, clarify, and document complex business requirements
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to accuracy and detail
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with system testing, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, information systems, or related field preferred
