The State of Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal is hiring a Licensing Analyst 1/2 to join our team in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish. In this full-time position, you'll support public safety by processing, reviewing, and managing licensing applications and compliance documentation for entities regulated under Louisiana fire safety law.
About the Role
The Licensing Analyst 1/2 plays a critical part in the Office of State Fire Marshal's mission to protect life and property from fire and explosion hazards, ensure safety in the constructed environment, and promote energy efficiency in commercial buildings across Louisiana. You'll work directly with applicants, field inspectors, and stakeholders to move licensing and permitting processes forward while maintaining strict compliance standards.
What You'll Do
- Process and review licensing applications, permit requests, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Verify applicant qualifications and eligibility against Louisiana state fire safety regulations and administrative codes
- Maintain accurate records and manage licensing databases and filing systems
- Correspond with applicants, inspectors, and other state agencies to gather information and provide status updates
- Identify compliance issues and discrepancies, coordinating resolution with supervisors and stakeholders
- Prepare reports and documentation to support licensing decisions and regulatory inquiries
- Support office operations and contribute to process efficiency improvements
