Virtua is seeking a One-to-One Observer for evening and night shift work at Burlington Hospital - 218 A Sunset Rd. In this essential patient-support role, you will provide continuous safety monitoring for patients under behavioral observation, working as an integral part of our healthcare team.

Role Overview

One-to-One Observers play a critical role in patient safety within hospital behavioral health and acute care settings. Your presence provides reassurance to vulnerable patients while maintaining vigilant monitoring and ensuring a safe environment throughout the night shift. This position is foundational to our commitment to compassionate, attentive patient care at Burlington Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous, attentive observation of your assigned patient according to clinical protocols and care plans
• Document patient behavior, interactions, and any significant incidents with accuracy and appropriate detail
• Communicate promptly with nursing staff and the broader care team regarding patient condition, mood changes, or concerns
• Support patients with basic comfort and needs as directed by nursing staff within established scope
• Adhere to all hospital safety policies, infection control procedures, and operational guidelines
• Remain alert and engaged throughout extended observation periods during evening and night hours

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED), or relevant healthcare or observation experience
• Strong ability to focus and remain observant over extended periods
• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a clinical team environment
• Compassion and patience for patients in crisis or experiencing distress
• Physical capability to be present, alert, and attentive for the duration of your shift
• Availability and reliability for evening and night shift scheduling
