What This Role Involves

As an Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse working day shifts at Virtua, you'll play a critical role in supporting minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. You'll be part of a specialized team delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced radiology environment. This position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in interventional nursing while working alongside experienced physicians and advanced practitioners.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologists and advanced practitioners during interventional radiology procedures, including setup, patient monitoring, and post-procedure care
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and procedure rooms according to institutional protocols
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and prompt documentation of patient status throughout procedures
• Administer medications and contrast agents as prescribed and ordered
• Communicate effectively with the interventional radiology team to ensure safe, coordinated patient care
• Maintain current knowledge of equipment, supplies, and procedural techniques used in image-guided interventions
• Respond to patient needs and provide education and reassurance throughout their care experience

Who We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure
• Nursing experience in an acute care or perioperative setting
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn interventional radiology nursing principles
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a collaborative clinical environment
• Ability to remain calm and focused during time-sensitive procedures
• Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and infection control
