Post Surgical/Medical Registered Nurse- Full Time Day Shift

Join Virtua's nursing team as a Post Surgical/Medical Registered Nurse providing compassionate, skilled care to patients in their critical recovery period at our Mount Holly facility on 175 Madison Avenue. We're seeking an experienced RN to deliver high-quality, evidence-based post-operative and medical nursing care on our day shift.

Position Summary

As a Post Surgical/Medical Registered Nurse at Virtua in Mount Holly, you'll be instrumental in guiding patients through their post-operative recovery and managing acute medical conditions. You'll work day shift hours within a collaborative healthcare environment, applying clinical expertise to monitor patient progress, manage pain, prevent complications, and support patients' return to wellness. Your role combines technical nursing skills with patient advocacy and health education.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess post-surgical patients, documenting vital signs and clinical observations to identify early warning signs of complications
• Manage post-operative wound care, including dressing changes and infection prevention protocols
• Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and patient safety
• Provide pain management and comfort measures, communicating with the care team about patient needs
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility as appropriate during recovery
• Educate patients and families about discharge instructions, medication compliance, and self-care
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care
• Maintain accurate, timely medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in your state
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
• Clinical nursing experience in acute care, post-surgical care, or medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development
