Medical Assistant – Center for Women’s Health – Mt. Juliet/Lebanon

Vumc is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our Center for Women's Health clinic in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. This is an on-site clinical position providing direct patient care and administrative support in our women's health specialty practice.

About This Position

As a Medical Assistant at Vumc's Mt. Juliet Women's Health location, you'll be an essential member of our clinical team, supporting both patients and physicians in a dynamic ambulatory care setting. This role blends clinical expertise with genuine patient communication, allowing you to make a direct impact on care quality and patient satisfaction during routine and specialized gynecological visits. You'll work in a dedicated women's health environment where your attention to detail and compassion matter every day.

What You'll Do

• Obtain and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints during clinic intake
• Prepare examination rooms and assist physicians during patient evaluations, exams, and procedures
• Document clinical findings and patient information accurately in electronic health records
• Communicate with patients to answer routine questions and ensure comfort and understanding
• Verify insurance information and support scheduling and appointment coordination
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and clinic protocols
• Assist clinical staff with specimen handling, inventory management, and administrative tasks

Requirements

• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent state credential)
• High school diploma or GED
• Demonstrated clinical and administrative proficiency with ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Strong interpersonal and patient communication skills
• Competency with electronic health record systems
• Reliable transportation and availability for a full-time schedule
• Background check and health screening clearance as required by Vumc
