Medical Assistant – Center for Women’s Health – Cool Springs

Vumc is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for our Center for Women's Health at Cool Springs in Franklin, TN. As a full-time Medical Assistant, you'll deliver compassionate patient care in a specialized women's health setting.

Position Summary

Join our Center for Women's Health team as a Medical Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of women throughout the Franklin area. This full-time position places you at the heart of patient care, bridging clinical and administrative responsibilities in a supportive, collaborative healthcare environment. You'll contribute to the smooth operation of our Cool Springs facility while delivering quality care that reflects Vumc's commitment to women's health services in Middle Tennessee.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and guide them through the intake process with professionalism and empathy
• Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and weight
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary medical supplies and equipment are properly stocked and sanitized
• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during patient examinations and procedures
• Maintain accurate and complete electronic health records (EHR) for all patient encounters
• Schedule appointments and manage patient information with attention to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Handle routine administrative tasks including filing, insurance verification, and prior authorization requests
• Support patients with educational materials and address basic questions about their care

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent credential preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with diverse patient populations
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and medical office software
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain organized under pressure
