Clinical Research Coordinator I – 100% On Site

Vumc is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to join our research operations team in Nashville, TN. In this full-time, on-site position, you'll support the execution of clinical research studies while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional protocols.

What This Role Involves

As a Clinical Research Coordinator I at Vumc, you will be instrumental in managing day-to-day research operations across clinical trials. You'll work closely with research teams, healthcare providers, and study participants to ensure studies progress smoothly from enrollment through data collection and closeout. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, and enroll eligible participants into assigned clinical trials
• Conduct informed consent discussions and maintain comprehensive study documentation
• Collect and verify research data according to study protocols and regulatory requirements
• Schedule and coordinate participant visits, procedures, and study-related activities
• Monitor participant safety and promptly report adverse events
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper records in compliance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines
• Communicate with research team members, participants, and institutional departments to address questions and resolve issues
• Support regulatory submissions and prepare materials for institutional review board meetings

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
• Demonstrated ability to organize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations
• Commitment to ethical research practices and participant safety
• Prior clinical research experience, medical background, or relevant healthcare exposure is valued
