Verawholehealth is seeking an Associate Vice President (AVP) of Clinical Systems and Interoperability to lead strategic health information technology initiatives across our organization in Florida. This is a full-time position based on-site in Florida, USA.
About the Role
As AVP of Clinical Systems and Interoperability, you will oversee the architecture, implementation, and optimization of clinical systems that enable seamless data exchange across our healthcare delivery network. You'll drive the modernization of our technology infrastructure to support clinical workflows, improve patient outcomes, and ensure regulatory compliance. This leadership role combines strategic vision with hands-on technical oversight, making you essential to our digital transformation roadmap.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of interoperability solutions aligned with FHIR, HL7, and industry healthcare standards
- Oversee clinical system implementations, upgrades, and integration projects across multiple care settings
- Manage vendor partnerships and relationships to ensure clinical technology systems meet organizational needs
- Develop and execute strategies that enhance health information exchange and data accessibility for clinicians
- Ensure all clinical systems comply with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, HL7 standards, and state healthcare IT regulations
- Collaborate with clinical leaders, IT teams, and department heads to align technology capabilities with patient care priorities
- Monitor system performance, security, and scalability of clinical technology infrastructure
What You Bring
- 7+ years of progressive experience in healthcare IT, clinical systems, or health information technology
- Deep knowledge of clinical information systems, electronic health records (EHR) platforms, and interoperability standards
- Demonstrated expertise in health information exchange, API development, or clinical data integration
- Proven leadership experience managing technical teams or major healthcare IT initiatives
- Understanding of healthcare compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks
- Strong project management skills and ability to drive complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, healthcare administration, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
