Field Diesel Mechanic Experienced

UR is seeking an experienced Field Diesel Mechanic to join our team at 2 locations. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work independently on diesel engine systems and heavy equipment across our operating sites.

About the Role

As a Field Diesel Mechanic with UR, you'll take ownership of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment in real-world field environments. This role is ideal for a self-directed technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and has a proven track record of service excellence and technical problem-solving in diesel systems.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, focusing on fuel systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service on diesel-powered equipment
• Troubleshoot system failures to identify root causes and implement lasting repairs
• Conduct testing and validation of repairs using diagnostic tools and equipment specifications
• Maintain accurate service records, work logs, and parts documentation
• Coordinate with operations teams to schedule work and minimize downtime
• Manage field tool and parts inventory to support repair operations

Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic or equivalent background in diesel engine systems
• Solid understanding of diesel engine mechanics, fuel injection, electrical systems, and hydraulics
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and wiring diagrams
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and standard mechanic's hand tools
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation for field work
• Independent work ethic with strong communication and organizational skills
