About the Role

The Grants Analyst 1 serves as a key member of Umiami's grants management and research administration team, providing comprehensive support throughout the grant lifecycle. Working directly with faculty researchers, grant administration staff, and institutional partners, you'll ensure successful grant applications, timely submissions, and strict regulatory compliance. This role bridges faculty-driven research with institutional operations, transforming research ideas into funded projects that drive discovery and innovation.

Core Duties

  • Review grant applications, proposals, and supporting documentation for completeness and alignment with funder requirements
  • Support faculty and research teams with grant development, including budget preparation, narrative review, and submission coordination
  • Maintain grant tracking systems and project databases; manage critical deadlines and communications between researchers and funding agencies
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, state requirements, and University of Miami institutional policies governing research and grants
  • Prepare grant reports, compliance documentation, and post-award performance summaries required by funding sponsors
  • Assist with grant closeout procedures and post-award financial and administrative management

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, science, engineering, or related discipline
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities; proven capability managing multiple projects and competing deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with grants management software or databases
  • Knowledge of federal grant compliance, research administration, or higher education operations strongly preferred
