Manufacturing Officer

What This Role Involves

As Manufacturing Officer at Wabtec's Bengaluru facility, you'll oversee daily manufacturing operations, optimise production workflows, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve operational performance, manage resources effectively, and support the facility's strategic manufacturing objectives. This role requires strong leadership capabilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Core Duties

• Supervise and coordinate manufacturing operations to meet production targets and timelines
• Monitor product quality through process controls and inspection procedures
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement operational enhancements
• Manage inventory, equipment maintenance schedules, and resource allocation
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
• Prepare and analyse production reports and performance metrics
• Support recruitment, training, and development of manufacturing team members
• Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance on continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related discipline
• Proven experience in manufacturing operations, production planning, or facility management
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety protocols
• Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and understanding production specifications
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems is advantageous
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
