Manager I, Engineering – Source Code Integration

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential observability platform client seeking a Manager I, Engineering - Source Code Integration to lead a critical team in Paris. In this hands-on technical leadership role, you will:

• Lead and develop a team of engineers at diverse experience levels, including performance management and career development
• Drive technical and strategic discussions to understand challenges and opportunities faced by the team and stakeholders
• Own relationships with product teams and major stakeholders, balancing competing requests with long-term investments and prioritizing platform-wide impact
• Run a lightweight process to pace and track work, supporting progressive delivery of high-quality solutions through demos and frequent iteration
• Stay hands-on with your team's systems, rolling up your sleeves to unblock the team by writing code or troubleshooting issues when needed
• Support internal and external customers in resolving issues, finding systematic solutions that elevate the platform and integration experience

What We're Looking For

Our client needs a technical leader who is:

• A strong collaborator and enabler—a natural leader who puts people first
• A backend engineer at heart with experience building robust systems composed of multiple services, data streams, and stores operating at scale
• Experienced with major backend technologies such as Go, Python, or Java, along with PostgreSQL, Kafka, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems
• Proven in running platform services, comfortable making tradeoffs and balancing short-term impact with long-term sustainability
• Able to work closely with product and internal teams to deliver solutions at scale
• Passionate about working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while providing leadership and direction for a highly technical team
• Positive and proactive towards AI, with experience using agentic tools for development and analysis

This is a hybrid role based in Paris, where office collaboration is valued for the relationships, creativity, and teamwork it fosters.

Pay
