Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential quantitative trading firm seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for their London office. In this role, you will collaborate with experienced mentors on real-world machine learning projects that directly impact business operations. You'll work within a fast-paced trading environment that serves as a unique platform for ML experimentation, allowing rapid iteration and deployment of new ideas.

Your projects will range from exploring open-ended research questions to building production systems. You'll have access to substantial GPU infrastructure and gain hands-on experience applying machine learning techniques to complex, noisy financial datasets. This position offers close mentorship from full-time engineers who have designed the projects you'll be working on.

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks candidates who demonstrate strong technical ability combined with intellectual curiosity and collaborative spirit. Specific qualifications include:

• Current undergraduate, postgraduate, or PhD student with practical machine learning experience
• Hands-on experience training ML models, working on ML libraries, or optimising ML workflows
• Exceptional programming skills and passion for technology
• Collaborative mindset with eagerness to learn and grow
• Humility and comfort asking questions and acknowledging areas for development
• Fluency in English
