iOS Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking an iOS Engineer to join their mobile engineering team in Cardiff. You will work within a small, cross-functional squad to build and evolve a native mobile banking application used by millions of customers daily.

In this role, you will:

• Build polished, product-focused user experiences in Swift and SwiftUI
• Work alongside Android engineers, backend engineers, user researchers, designers, product managers, and data scientists
• Take ownership of company goals rather than isolated features, influencing both what gets built and how
• Balance well-tested, resilient code with the need to iterate quickly
• Participate in weekly iOS discipline meetings to discuss tools, techniques, and continuous improvement
• Contribute to a codebase built with MVVM architecture, Coordinators, protocols, and modern architectural patterns
• Report to an engineering manager dedicated to your professional growth

What We're Looking For

Our client is seeking candidates who:

• Have experience programming in Swift and are excited about the language
• Have shipped and iterated on at least one app in the App Store
• Possess a product mindset with focus on customer outcomes and data-informed decisions
• Care about the impact of their work on end users, optimizing for outcomes rather than output volume
• Love transforming excellent design into beautiful, functional products
• Are comfortable working in environments with ambiguity
• Understand core computer science principles
• Have experience with or willingness to learn SwiftUI, modern architectural patterns, and testing frameworks

The ideal candidate will have worked with networking stacks, API integration, unit testing, snapshot testing, and monitoring tools. Backgrounds vary widely on this team—non-graduates, career changers, and engineers from startups or large companies are all welcome.
