Hughes & Coleman, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant – Litigation & Trial in Clarksville, Montgomery County to support our litigation practice. In this full-time position, you will partner with trial attorneys to prepare cases, conduct legal research, and ensure smooth case progression from initial filing through trial.
About the Role
As a Litigation & Trial Legal Assistant at our Clarksville office, you'll be at the center of case management and trial readiness. This is a full-time role that combines administrative oversight with substantive legal support, providing our litigation team the foundation they need to succeed in court.
What You'll Do
- Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents under attorney direction
- Conduct legal research and organize findings for attorney review
- Coordinate deposition and hearing schedules, ensuring all parties are notified and prepared
- Prepare and organize trial exhibits and evidence binders
- Maintain comprehensive case files and ensure all documents are properly indexed
- Assist with trial preparation, including witness management and courtroom logistics
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel professionally and clearly
- Support discovery efforts and manage litigation timelines
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a legal assistant in a litigation environment
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with legal document drafting and formatting
- Proficiency with legal research tools and standard office software
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
