Join TAMPA METROPOLITAN AREA YMCA INC. as a full-time Custodian in East Lake-Orient Park, Hillsborough County, where you'll maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility for our community. In this essential role, you'll work under the direction of our Facilities Director and Executive Director to ensure patron comfort and satisfaction.
Position Summary
As our Custodian, you are responsible for maintaining a clean and safe facility environment. Your work directly impacts the experience of every patron and our ability to serve the community effectively. You'll perform comprehensive janitorial duties and maintenance tasks that keep the facility in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain clean and safe walkways and pathways throughout the facility
- Clear obstacles and remove debris from common areas and entryways
- Perform general janitorial duties including cleaning, sweeping, and sanitizing
- Maintain restrooms and changing facilities to high standards
- Empty trash receptacles and manage waste disposal areas
- Operate and care for cleaning equipment and supplies
- Report maintenance issues and safety concerns to supervisors
- Follow facility safety and sanitation procedures at all times
Skills & Qualifications
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Physical ability to perform custodial tasks
- Reliability and consistent attendance
- Ability to work independently and follow directions
- Willingness to commit to a full-time schedule
- Experience with janitorial work or cleaning (preferred)
