KBS Marcus seeks an enthusiastic Leerkracht groep 1-2 in Utrecht, Provincie Utrecht to guide the youngest pupils through their first school experiences in a community-focused primary setting.

Position Summary

This full-time Leerkracht groep 1-2 role at KBS Marcus centres on supporting children in groups 1 and 2 within the Overvecht neighbourhood of Utrecht, Provincie Utrecht. You will shape a nurturing classroom that balances core learning with personal growth, all while contributing to a collaborative staff culture that prizes care, ownership and enjoyment. The position sits entirely on site at the school and offers the chance to make a lasting impact on early childhood development in a local community environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging daily activities and lessons suited to children aged four to six that build both foundational skills and wider personal growth
• Foster social and emotional development through structured play, group interaction and positive daily routines
• Cultivate early literacy, numeracy and motor abilities in an age-appropriate, playful manner
• Maintain a secure, calm and inclusive classroom climate where every child feels valued and ready to learn
• Work closely with colleagues and parents to monitor each child’s progress and address individual needs
• Model and encourage values of attentiveness, responsibility and enjoyment throughout school life

Requirements

• Recognised qualification for primary education that meets Dutch standards for teaching groups 1-2
• Demonstrated experience or clear aptitude for working with early-years children in a classroom setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for connecting with young learners, families and fellow staff
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a close-knit educational team
• Genuine commitment to holistic child development that includes social-emotional growth alongside academic foundations
