About the Role
As a Mobile Diesel Technician with Fyda Freightliner Group, you'll deliver on-site service and repairs for commercial trucks throughout the Columbus area. This full-time, field-based position is ideal for a hands-on technician who thrives on solving mechanical challenges directly at customer locations rather than from a single shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites across West Jefferson, Madison County, and the greater Columbus region to diagnose and repair diesel-powered commercial vehicles
- Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and component repairs on Freightliner, Western Star, Kalmar Ottawa, and Isuzu trucks
- Complete accurate service documentation and communicate findings clearly to customers and the dealership team
- Maintain your mobile service vehicle, tools, and equipment to manufacturer standards
- Uphold safety practices and quality expectations on every job
Qualifications
- Proven experience servicing and repairing diesel engines and heavy-duty commercial trucks
- Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with the makes and models in the Freightliner, Western Star, Ottawa, and Isuzu COE portfolios
- Ability to work independently in a mobile, field-service capacity
- Valid driver's license and a clean, safety-focused work record
- Reliable, self-motivated, and committed to excellent customer service
