Manufacturing Financial Analyst

Joby Aviation is seeking a Manufacturing Financial Analyst to join its team in Marina, Monterey County.

In this role you will partner with production and engineering groups to provide financial insight that supports the scaling of electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.

About the Role

The Manufacturing Financial Analyst serves as a financial bridge between the factory floor and corporate leadership, delivering timely analysis that informs cost control, investment decisions, and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Prepare monthly manufacturing cost reports, including material, labor, and overhead variances
• Support the development and maintenance of standard cost models for new aircraft components
• Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to track purchase price variances and inventory accuracy
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes for production lines and capital projects
• Conduct ad‑hoc financial analysis to evaluate process improvements, tooling investments, and workflow changes
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and GAAP standards in all manufacturing‑related accounting
• Provide financial support during internal and external audits related to production activities

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within a manufacturing, aerospace, or high‑tech environment
• Strong proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, advanced formulas) and experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
• Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis
• Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for non‑financial stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Detail‑oriented with a proven track record of meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced setting
