About the Role
As a New Graduate Behavioral Health RN in this part-time position, you'll work alongside experienced psychiatric and behavioral health teams to provide patient-centered care in a supportive, structured environment. You'll gain foundational competency in mental health nursing while contributing to your patients' treatment plans and recovery goals.
What You'll Do
- Assess and monitor behavioral health patients, documenting clinical observations and patient responses to treatment
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams on individual and group therapeutic activities
- Perform essential clinical duties including vital sign monitoring, EKG monitoring when needed, and medication administration under supervision
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients and provide emotional support during vulnerable moments
- Support patients through crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning
- Maintain accurate medical records and communicate patient status clearly to the care team
What We're Looking For
- Current RN license (or newly licensed in Michigan)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Interest in behavioral health, mental health nursing, or psychiatric care
- Basic knowledge of or openness to learning cardiac assessment and EKG monitoring
- Strong communication and compassion for patients in behavioral health settings
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary care team
- Willingness to grow clinically and embrace structured preceptorship and mentoring
