Lead Software Engineer – Medical OS

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in their search for a Lead Software Engineer to join their clinical platform team in London. In this role, you will:

• Design and deliver AI-integrated clinical workflows across the full stack, including intelligent assessment tools, personalized briefings, and documentation systems that support clinical decision-making
• Build clinician-in-the-loop systems where healthcare professional expertise informs the platform while automation handles routine coordination tasks
• Spend time directly with clinical staff and end users to understand workflows first-hand and translate insights into shipped features
• Architect solutions that balance technical complexity with regulatory requirements and patient data handling
• Lead cross-functional delivery on a longitudinal health record system that evolves with each patient interaction
• Mentor engineers on the team and contribute to technical decision-making and architectural trade-offs

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Full-stack engineering experience with the ability to lead complex, end-to-end delivery (candidates stronger in backend or frontend are welcome if they can demonstrate effectiveness across the stack)
• Strong grasp of architectural concepts and frameworks with the ability to explain and defend technical trade-offs
• Product-minded approach with a track record of shipping well-rated products driven by direct customer feedback
• Demonstrable AI-first working methods beyond basic code assistance—experience with agentic tooling and building AI features into production products
• Excellent communication skills and mentorship ability

Preferred:

• B2C product experience with consumer-grade user experience, or B2B experience on modern, highly-rated platforms
• Medical technology, clinical, or healthcare industry experience; alternatively, experience in other regulated industries such as fintech
• Exposure to hardware/firmware integrations or device ecosystems
