About This Role

We are representing a confidential venture capital firm seeking an Investment Associate to join their team in Munich. Our client backs exceptional founders building companies at the intersection of AI and frontier technology. This is a high-ownership position within a deliberately small investment team, offering significant exposure to all aspects of early-stage venture investing.

The role is full-time and based in Munich, with regular travel across Europe. Candidates must already possess the right to work in Germany; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

As an Investment Associate, you will be responsible for identifying and partnering with exceptional founders at the earliest stages of company building. Your work will be varied and demanding, including:

• Sourcing investment opportunities through research, network development, and creative outreach methods
• Conducting deep-dive analysis on emerging technologies and markets to develop compelling investment theses
• Supporting founders throughout the diligence and investment process
• Building valuable connections within the startup ecosystem
• Contributing to firm-building initiatives with a high degree of agency
• Participating in all stages of the investment process from initial screening through portfolio support

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks candidates with genuine intellectual curiosity, a builder's mentality, and exceptional drive. A technical background in hard sciences, computer science, or AI is highly valued. While extensive experience is not required, an outstanding trajectory and demonstrable excellence are essential.

Pay

The base compensation range is €65,000 to €85,000 annually, depending on experience. This is supplemented by performance-based bonuses and carried interest participation, which can represent a significant component of total compensation.
