Manager Energy Operations & Metering (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cleantech organization focused on commercial real estate decarbonization. Our talent team is seeking a Manager Energy Operations & Metering to join their Frankfurt am Main office and build core operational processes from the ground up.

This is a pivotal role for someone who wants to shape energy supply, metering, and billing operations rather than simply maintain existing systems. You'll work at the intersection of real estate, renewable energy, and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Energy Operations: Establish and manage energy supply processes for commercial properties, develop standardized operational workflows, coordinate interfaces between customers, grid operators, metering providers and service partners, ensure high data and process quality
• Metering & Measurement: Oversee metering concepts for PV systems, heat pumps, charging infrastructure and tenant electricity models; coordinate meter installations, replacements and commissioning; collaborate with competitive metering operators; ensure availability and quality of measurement data
• Grid Operator & Market Processes: Communicate with distribution grid operators and market partners, support registration and change processes, assist with master data and market location processes, resolve energy-industry questions during project operations
• Electricity Supply: Support development of electricity supply and tenant electricity processes, manage supply relationships in existing properties, contribute to new energy product development, collaborate with external billing and energy service providers
• Billing & Data Management: Validate consumption and load profile data, support electricity and heat billing, identify and resolve data and process errors, develop automation and digital workflows
• Operations & Digitalization: Help build the company's operating system, define standards, templates and processes, support selection and integration of new software solutions, work closely with project management, engineering and leadership

What We're Looking For

• Degree or training in energy economics, industrial engineering, supply technology, business administration or comparable field
• Several years of professional experience in the energy industry
• Experience in multiple areas including: metering operations, market communication, electricity supply, energy data management, billing, tenant electricity or property supply, grid operator processes
• Interest in digital processes and automation
• Structured, solution-oriented working style
• Desire to take ownership and build things from scratch
• Particularly valuable: experience with utilities, municipal energy providers, metering operators, tenant electricity or submetering providers, energy service companies, grid operators, or energy-industry software companies
• German language proficiency required for regulatory communication and documentation
