Account Lead / Projektmanager (m/w/d) Shopify E-Commerce

About This Opportunity

We are representing a specialized e-commerce agency based in Stuttgart that builds long-term client relationships through a Shopify-focused practice. Our client is seeking an Account Lead / Project Manager (m/w/d) who will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, coordinating internal teams and ensuring exceptional client experiences from initial engagement through ongoing partnership.

This is a client-facing role where you will own relationships end-to-end. You'll lead client conversations independently, manage expectations proactively, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. The position requires someone who thrives on responsibility, communicates at eye level with clients, and addresses challenges directly before they escalate.

The agency operates with approximately 10 team members, emphasizing quality over speed and sustainable growth. They leverage AI-first workflows and modern tooling throughout their operations.

Responsibilities

• Own client relationships from A to Z as the central point of contact between clients and internal development teams
• Lead client conversations independently, actively manage expectations, and engage clients at the right moments before questions become problems
• Shape collaboration proactively by reaching out to clients rather than waiting, communicating on equal footing
• Address difficulties and conflicts early and directly rather than postponing them
• Coordinate multiple projects in parallel, proactively distribute tasks to the team, and ensure smooth execution without becoming a bottleneck
• Ensure clients feel well-supported and maintain long-term working relationships

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in direct client responsibility, ideally in an agency or comparable service provider environment where you led clients and owned projects
• Communication is your core strength: you engage confidently and on equal terms in client conversations and know when and how to guide clients effectively
• Negotiation-level fluency in German, both written and verbal
• Conflict-capable: you actively address uncertainties and problems rather than avoiding them
• Proactive and self-directed work style with the ability to drive projects forward independently
• Strong coordination abilities and capacity to maintain oversight across multiple parallel projects

Nice to have:

• Experience with Shopify or e-commerce (technical depth can be learned on the job; what matters is your ability to quickly get up to speed and credibly translate between clients and technical teams)
