Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential data privacy consultancy based in Karlsruhe. As a Data Privacy Consultant, you will manage your own client mandates with substantial autonomy, serving as a trusted advisor on data protection matters.
Your responsibilities include:
- Evaluating organizations, processes, and software applications for data privacy compliance
- Managing client relationships independently and serving as the primary data privacy contact
- Addressing standard data privacy questions autonomously and developing practical recommendations for legal, technical, and organizational challenges
- Structuring complex or ambiguous situations, asking clarifying questions, and identifying relevant points for privacy assessment
- Conducting client meetings, coordination sessions, training, and workshops independently
- Supporting demanding projects such as software implementations, data protection impact assessments, Microsoft 365 rollouts, and AI applications
- Creating privacy documentation, assessments, statements, and deliverables that require minimal internal review
- Collaborating with team members on particularly difficult, novel, or cross-functional questions
- Identifying additional client consulting needs and flagging when questions exceed agreed scope
- Developing existing templates and working methods based on consulting practice
What We're Looking For
Our client seeks a consultant with a strong client-service mindset, solution-oriented thinking, curiosity, and a passion for professional development in data privacy.
Required qualifications:
- Completed degree or training related to data privacy, law, business law, information management, business informatics, or comparable qualification
- Practical experience in data privacy with broad, application-oriented knowledge
- Ability to handle typical data privacy questions and standard mandates largely independently
- Capability to connect legal requirements with technical and organizational realities and develop understandable recommendations
- Confident presence in client conversations with ability to ask targeted questions and answer difficult inquiries clearly
- Strong self-organization skills, priority-setting ability, and reliable management of multiple concurrent topics
- German language skills at minimum C1 level in speaking and writing (client consulting is predominantly in German; you must understand, question, and explain complex legal, technical, and organizational matters)
- Good English skills at approximately B2 level, particularly for understanding and processing English-language privacy, contract, and technical documentation
- Self-directed approach to learning new subject matter and developing solutions beyond existing templates

Pay
