About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential defense technology organization based in Paris. Our client is seeking an Intelligence Économique & Développement Commercial professional for an alternance position. This role sits at the intersection of competitive intelligence, business development, and strategic security in the defense sector.

You will work closely with both security and sales teams to monitor the competitive landscape, support commercial expansion efforts, and contribute to business continuity planning in a sensitive, high-stakes environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze strategic competition within the counter-drone and defense sectors, tracking competitor positioning, contracts, partnerships, and market developments
• Conduct ongoing surveillance of government procurement opportunities, defense programs, and budget allocations across target markets
• Assess economic intelligence threats including industrial espionage and information capture, recommending appropriate countermeasures
• Maintain a shared competitive intelligence database accessible to security and sales teams
• Contribute to strategic differentiation analysis, developing positioning arguments and competitive advantages
• Produce executive summaries and strategic recommendations for commercial leadership
• Support sales teams in identifying and prospecting new markets, particularly for international expansion
• Participate in preparing responses to government tenders and procurement processes
• Analyze target markets including geopolitical context, regulatory environment, and competitive dynamics
• Develop forecasts on potential conflicts and their impact on business-critical markets and regions
• Conduct studies on business continuity planning (PCA) for supply chain disruptions or inventory shortages
• Identify alternative suppliers and develop logistical resilience scenarios

What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing Bac+4/5 degree in Business School, Political Science, Economic Intelligence, or International Relations
• Strong interest in defense, geopolitics, and commercial strategy
• Analytical mindset with curiosity and ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights
• Strong interpersonal skills and genuine interest in business development
• Good level of English required; additional languages are a plus
• Discretion and understanding of confidentiality requirements in sensitive defense contexts
• Proficiency with monitoring tools and open-source intelligence (OSINT) methodologies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where strategic intelligence directly impacts commercial success
