Infrastructure Software Engineer

About This Role

We are representing a confidential technology client seeking an Infrastructure Software Engineer in Poland. This is an opportunity to work on large-scale distributed systems that impact millions of users globally.

Our client is building next-generation infrastructure to support data-intensive applications at massive scale. You'll be working on systems that handle hundreds of petabytes of data and millions of concurrent connections, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design and build infrastructure capable of managing metadata for hundreds of billions of files and handling hundreds of petabytes of user data
• Develop solutions that facilitate millions of concurrent connections across distributed systems
• Contribute to analytics platforms that extract meaningful insights from vast data volumes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance performance, reliability, and security of large-scale infrastructure
• Participate in occasional on-call rotations to address operational issues and maintain system stability

What We're Looking For

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent technical experience
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Demonstrated experience building and managing large-scale, multi-threaded, and geographically distributed backend systems
• Proficiency in programming and debugging with Python, Go, C/C++, or Java
• Experience with operating system internals, filesystems, databases, networks, and compilers
• Ability to independently execute complex technical tasks
• Familiarity with concurrency primitives (semaphores, mutexes) is a plus
