Junior Software Engineer – Early Career (Strong Problem solving & Coding Focus) – 100% Remote within Spain

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare technology organization with a strong presence across Europe. This is a 100% remote role for candidates based in Spain.

We're seeking a Junior Software Engineer who combines strong problem-solving ability with a builder mindset. You'll join small, autonomous teams working on meaningful products that connect patients with healthcare providers and power clinical workflows used by millions of people monthly.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship production features across the full stack, from frontend interfaces to backend services
• Work on high-impact product areas including marketplace systems, practice management software, AI-powered clinical tools, or patient data integrations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and iterate on solutions
• Take ownership of features from conception through deployment and monitoring
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and workflows to increase engineering effectiveness
• Contribute to internal open-source culture by working across different services and teams
• Participate in code reviews and help maintain high engineering standards focused on simplicity and correctness

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Strong foundations in computer science including data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis
• Demonstrated ability to build real software and ship working features
• Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to break down complex systems and find elegant solutions
• Builder mindset with focus on outcomes and ownership, not just tasks
• Curiosity about users and their problems, comfortable iterating based on feedback
• High learning velocity and ability to pick up new technologies quickly
• AI-first engineering mindset with excitement about experimenting with AI coding tools and agents

Preferred:

• Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar technical discipline
• Competitive programming experience (ICPC, Google Code Jam, Codeforces, national olympiads, or similar)
• Evidence of building things: side projects, open-source contributions, hackathons, or shipped products
• Exposure to modern engineering workflows including continuous delivery, observability, and collaborative development
• Experience with technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, React, or cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes)
