IAM Security Engineer

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in their search for an IAM Security Engineer. This is a remote position based in the United States, offering the opportunity to lead next-generation identity and access management strategies enhanced by artificial intelligence and automation.

In this role, you'll spearhead innovation by developing advanced detection, prevention, and governance capabilities that leverage AI to proactively identify access patterns and mitigate policy violations. You'll build cutting-edge AI agents and intelligent systems that can autonomously detect anomalous activities while continuously refining both automated and manual administration processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage, configure, and optimize IAM solutions including SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, Entra ID, and related identity governance platforms to support secure access across enterprise systems
• Develop and maintain automation for IAM processes including access provisioning, compliance reporting, role management, entitlement review, and administrative workflows
• Build AI-enabled capabilities to simplify IAM administration, support adaptive access decisions, identify anomalies, summarize access issues, and recommend remediation steps
• Create AI solutions using tools like Anthropic Claude, Azure Copilot, and Langchain that enhance IAM governance, hygiene, and program management in autonomous or semi-supervised fashion
• Lead development of retrieval-augmented LLM tools to answer analyst queries, auto-summarize issues, and recommend next steps for access requests and remediation
• Collaborate with AI Centers of Excellence and engineering teams for best practices and technology support
• Analyze IAM data using reporting tools and analytical methods to identify trends, support KPIs and KRIs, and improve access hygiene
• Support provisioning, de-provisioning, access changes, and review processes ensuring appropriate access based on business need, role, and policy requirements
• Support IAM governance activities aligned with internal policies, security standards, and regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, SOX, SOC2, and PCI-DSS
• Partner with Security, IT, application owners, business stakeholders, audit, and compliance teams to ensure consistent access management and policy enforcement
• Contribute to ongoing maturity of IAM processes, tools, and documentation by identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and strengthen security outcomes

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent years of related experience
• 5+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management, cybersecurity, information security, or related technical field
• Experience supporting enterprise IAM solutions, identity governance, access lifecycle management, and access control processes
• Experience with automation, scripting, data analysis, reporting, or AI-assisted workflow improvement

Technical Skills:

• Working knowledge of Generative AI, large language models, or AI-assisted tooling applied to access administration, governance, anomaly detection, or reporting
• Experience with IAM and identity governance platforms such as SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, Entra ID, or similar tools
• Experience with privileged access management tools such as BeyondTrust or similar PAM solutions
• Understanding of Zero Trust security models and related access security technologies
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks related to IAM including SOX, HIPAA, SOC2, and PCI-DSS
• Experience with cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP and integrating IAM solutions with cloud services
• Ability to develop automation using tools, scripts, workflows, or reporting mechanisms
• Familiarity with Python, SQL, APIs, or similar technical methods for data analysis, reporting, and automation
• Ability to translate technical findings and access risks into clear, actionable recommendations

Preferred:

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or IAM-focused certifications
