Wealth Planning Attorney

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential wealth management organization seeking a Wealth Planning Attorney to join their sophisticated planning team. In this client-facing role, you will:

• Collaborate with attorneys, CFPs, and CPAs to create comprehensive estate and business plans for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, focusing on wealth transfer, business succession, tax mitigation, and executive compensation strategies
• Assess clients' financial circumstances and objectives to identify planning opportunities, develop targeted strategies, and support informed decision-making
• Lead advisor and client presentations with executive presence, delivering clear guidance on complex planning concepts
• Engage effectively with clients' outside legal and tax advisors to ensure alignment and coordinated execution of planning objectives
• Provide sophisticated case consultation and strategic guidance across a broad range of advanced planning topics
• Evaluate legal documents and planning structures to deliver practical, actionable insights
• Manage workflow and deliver high-quality analyses in accordance with service level expectations

What We're Looking For

• JD from an accredited program; additional advanced degree or designations such as CFP, CPA, or LL.M. preferred
• Minimum 10 years of estate and business planning experience, preferably in a consulting role with clients and/or financial advisors
• Extensive experience working directly with high-net-worth clients in advanced estate and business planning, as well as tax planning
• Deep expertise in tax optimization, estate and business succession, and wealth transfer strategies
• Willingness to obtain FINRA Series 6 or 7 and state insurance license within the first 6 months of hire
• Strong analytical capabilities with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to translate complex planning concepts into client-friendly, actionable guidance
• Demonstrated executive presence and ability to build trust and credibility with financial advisors and clients
• Highly skilled in Microsoft suite, particularly PowerPoint, and experienced with planning software, workflow tools, and research platforms
• Experience mentoring others is a plus

Pay

Our client offers a competitive compensation package with a base salary range of $176,000 to $276,000 USD, depending on location, experience, skills, and other factors determined during the hiring process. California and New York City locations may have specific pay structures within this range.
