About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data center infrastructure company in their search for an Application Engineer. Our client is driving innovation in sustainable cooling solutions and needs a technical expert to bridge product engineering and customer deployment.

This is a remote position based in the United States with up to 25% travel to customer sites and company facilities. You'll report to the Director of Research & Development and serve as the critical technical interface between advanced cooling systems and real-world data center projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review design drawings and submittals for cooling system application accuracy, including equipment selection, capacity verification, and hydronic configuration
  • Interface directly with customer and consulting design engineers to assess and validate equipment application requirements
  • Support the estimating group with equipment selections and technical scope input to ensure accurate proposals
  • Provide engineering support to project management teams on technical questions, drawing conflicts, RFI responses, and submittal coordination
  • Support customers with application and technical questions throughout installation and startup phases
  • Feed field experience and customer insights back to R&D and Product Development teams to drive product improvement and quality enhancements

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in cooling equipment application or design review
  • Expertise in data center cooling systems
  • Experience with chillers, CDUs, and liquid cooling for AI or hyperscale deployments
  • Applications engineering background at a cooling equipment manufacturer
  • Fluent in mechanical design documents, schedules, and hydronic schematics
  • Strong client communication skills with comfort working directly with customer engineers and consultants
