Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential faith-based organization in their search for a Part-Time Chaplain to serve employees in the West Houston, TX area. This frontline ministry role involves building meaningful relationships with workers and their families during both routine visits and life's most challenging moments. While assigned hours are generally consistent week to week (approximately 2-4 hours), there are no guaranteed minimum hours, and schedule needs vary based on chaplain availability and organizational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Make regular visits to company worksites to interact with employees and build relationships of trust and friendship
• Visit employees or immediate family members in hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, and other care settings
• Provide confidential pastoral discussions for personal issues including family matters, divorce, serious illness, care of aging parents, grief, parenting, financial stress, and other life challenges
• Serve as a referral coordinator for specialized assistance and connect individuals with appropriate resources
• Assist in planning, conducting, or attending funerals and providing follow-up grief support to families
• Work with companies to deliver notifications of death and serious injuries to families and colleagues
• Provide post-termination care for laid-off or terminated employees to support smooth transitions
• Participate in new employee orientations to explain the employee care service
• Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities as appropriate, supporting employee-led initiatives
• Represent the organization to clients and customers during traumatic events when ministry presence is appropriate
• Document activities and maintain accurate records according to organizational standards

What We're Looking For

• Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle with attestation to a saving faith in Jesus Christ
• Active participation in a biblically based church and fundamental understanding of the Holy Bible and its proper application
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and interfaith setting with acceptance of different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values
• Exceptional listening and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse individuals and families
• Ability to cope with stressful situations, human suffering, and emergencies while maintaining emotional stability
• Strong diplomatic skills with patience and courtesy when working with diverse groups
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential issues with discretion and sound judgment
• Problem-solving skills and ability to identify appropriate solutions and resources
• Computer proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, email, and web-based applications
• Active state driver's license and state minimum auto insurance
• Must pass a pre-employment background check
