Clinical Trial Manager (Oncology) – South Africa (Home-based) – FSP

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential global clinical research organization seeking a Clinical Trial Manager (Oncology) to work remotely from South Africa. Our client is a recognized leader in clinical development, partnering with biopharmaceutical companies to advance therapies that improve patient outcomes worldwide.

In this role, you will manage oncology clinical trials from setup through delivery, serving as a key member of the development operations team. You'll coordinate cross-functional activities, oversee external vendors and contract research organizations, and ensure trials are executed efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

This is a home-based position offering the opportunity to make a direct impact on bringing new cancer treatments to patients across Africa and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Manage individual oncology clinical trials and programs as part of Clinical Trial Working Groups
• Oversee external vendors and contract research organizations throughout the trial lifecycle
• Prepare essential study documents including Monitoring Manuals, Study Operations Manuals, Source Data Verification Plans, and Laboratory Manuals
• Coordinate design of study materials such as case report forms, patient diaries, study participation cards, and source documents
• Assist with protocol development and contribute to study report completion
• Manage monitoring activities at clinical study sites to ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practices, standard operating procedures, and study protocols
• Provide guidance, direction, and management to Clinical Research Associates
• Track patient enrollment, qualify and initiate sites, conduct closeout activities, and coordinate data management tasks
• Coordinate study supplies and negotiate contracts with clinical trial service vendors
• Review Informed Consent Forms, case report forms, and study-related materials for compliance
• Plan and participate in investigator meetings
• Support the data query resolution process
• Ensure regulatory compliance of investigational sites with sponsor standard operating procedures and FDA/ICH guidelines
• Maintain current and compliant trial master files

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; nursing degree or science degree preferred
• 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in clinical studies (pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO environment)
• Proven track record with relevant clinical trials experience, including strong performance as a Clinical Research Associate
• Demonstrated experience in clinical trial management
• Proven management and leadership of people in a matrixed environment
• Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice, ICH guidelines and regulations, regulatory requirements, and clinical trial processes
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
