About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential pharmaceutical organization that is building a new US division focused on rare diseases and oncology. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned cellular therapy professional to join an early-stage team launching a potentially transformative allogeneic cell therapy for a devastating rare disease affecting transplant patients.

As a Cellular Therapy Account Director covering the Northwest territory (Northern California, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Nevada, and Idaho), you'll work in a start-up environment within an established global organization. This role is ideal for "builders" who thrive on creating new structures and processes while maintaining a patient-centric approach.

Responsibilities

Pre-Approval Phase:

  • Lead disease awareness efforts for Epstein-Barr Virus Positive Post Transplant Lymphoproliferative Disease (EBV+ PTLD) among medical experts in cell therapy, bone marrow transplant, lymphoma, and solid organ transplantation
  • Conduct institutional mapping to understand operational processes, patient flow, and referral networks at cell therapy and transplant centers
  • Engage with physicians on disease severity, unmet medical need, current standard of care, and patient journey
  • Lead site onboarding processes for allogeneic cell therapy, including process mapping and requirements assessment
  • Develop and maintain detailed account plans with specific KPIs and tactics
  • Partner with service line directors, administrators, coordinators, pharmacy committees, and medical societies to map relevant processes
  • Collaborate with marketing on development of promotional materials
  • Provide support at professional meetings, including exhibit staffing and facilitating expert meetings

Post-Approval Phase:

  • Drive appropriate demand and utilization of the therapy within assigned territory institutions
  • Educate on efficacy and safety for adoption in appropriate patients using approved promotional materials
  • Navigate complex account environments by identifying stakeholder needs and collaborating cross-functionally with medical, value and access, and cell therapy operations teams
  • Equip treatment center staff with process training to eliminate barriers and optimize operational workflows
  • Share relevant account and HCP insights with cross-functional partners regarding business trends, competitive shifts, and therapeutic landscape changes
  • Execute territory business plans to ensure seamless customer and patient experience

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Deep expertise in cell or gene therapy service lines
  • Sales experience in ultra-rare disease, ideally in cell and gene therapy
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative, complex matrix environments
  • Ability to understand and convey complex treatment modalities with high scientific aptitude
  • Ability to handle business information in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Passion for making a difference in patients' lives
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% within assigned territory, including overnight travel

Preferred:

  • Launch experience in high acuity therapeutic areas such as ultra-rare disease
  • Existing relationships in cell therapy, bone marrow transplantation, or solid organ transplantation service lines
  • Experience managing large geographic territories
  • Experience in rare oncology and/or transplant settings
  • Demonstrated record of successful account management in large academic institutions
