Welsh Language Specialist – Freelance AI Trainer Project

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking an experienced Welsh language professional for a freelance AI training project. This remote contract role offers the opportunity to apply your linguistic expertise to shape how AI systems understand and generate Welsh content.

As language models continue to evolve, high-quality training data becomes essential for delivering natural, accurate, and culturally appropriate Welsh experiences. Your work will directly influence the next generation of AI tools supporting Welsh speakers worldwide.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Review and annotate Welsh language content for AI training purposes
• Evaluate AI-generated Welsh text outputs for accuracy, fluency, and naturalness
• Assess grammar, syntax, semantics, style, and cultural appropriateness of generated content
• Identify and document linguistic error patterns to improve model performance
• Collaborate with technical teams to refine prompts, evaluation methods, and linguistic guidelines
• Provide expert feedback that strengthens the AI system's understanding of Welsh language nuances

What We're Looking For

• Fluency in Welsh (required)
• Demonstrated professional experience in translation, linguistics, language teaching, editing, or related fields
• Strong attention to detail and cultural knowledge
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in training, coaching, or linguistic annotation (preferred)
• Mid to senior-level expertise in Welsh language work
• Secure computer and stable internet connection for remote work
