Health Coach

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential virtual healthcare organization in their search for a Health Coach to join their growing team. Our client delivers personalized care programs that help patients manage weight, chronic conditions, and overall wellness through evidence-based treatment approaches.

As a Health Coach, you'll work virtually with members to facilitate lasting behavior change across areas including weight management, nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and chronic disease prevention. You'll operate within a motivational interviewing framework, partnering with members to identify their intrinsic motivators and overcome barriers to sustainable health improvements.

This is a part-time position based in the United States, requiring availability primarily Monday-Friday 8am-8pm in your time zone, plus Saturday 8am-12pm.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a panel of members seeking to increase healthy lifestyle behaviors through individual and group video sessions
• Deliver coaching across comprehensive mind and body wellness programs
• Communicate with members via video consultations and secure electronic messaging according to program cadence requirements
• Apply motivational interviewing skills and coaching competencies to help members establish concrete, SMART health goals
• Document session notes and key information using the organization's platform applications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams (physicians, dietitians, therapists) to ensure coordinated, best-in-class member experiences
• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and protect Protected Health Information (PHI) at all times
• Meet quality metrics, efficiency benchmarks, and consult time management guidelines
• Complete ongoing training requirements and stay current on department communications and policies

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a health-related field (nutrition, public health, exercise physiology, psychology, health science, or health education)
• Health coaching certification from an NBHWC-approved program (Wellcoaches, Duke Integrative, or equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years of one-on-one health coaching experience post-certification
• Ability to pass a motivational interviewing skills assessment
• Strong technology proficiency with cloud-based productivity tools, communication platforms, and healthcare software
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (sponsorship not available)
• U.S. residency required; international remote work is not permitted

Preferred Qualifications:

• CHES or NBC-HWC certification
• Spanish fluency
