We are representing a confidential medical device company in a critical leadership role that bridges clinical engineering, technical operations, and commercial deployment. Our client is advancing cardiac monitoring technology through innovative wearable sensors and AI-driven analytics. This Head of Technical Operations and Clinical Engineering position will be instrumental in scaling their solutions across hospital systems nationwide.

As the technical operations leader, you'll own the complete lifecycle of customer deployments—from technical scoping and hospital IT integration through ongoing fleet management and clinical study execution. You'll serve as the bridge between R&D innovation and real-world clinical implementation, ensuring solutions deliver meaningful patient outcomes while building the operational infrastructure to support rapid growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end deployment of medical monitoring solutions for new hospital customers, serving as primary contact for hospital IT, biomedical engineering, and information security teams
• Define and maintain onboarding procedures including device procurement, provisioning, fleet management, workflow mapping, and clinical staff training
• Manage integration workstreams with hospital systems and third-party cardiac data platforms, coordinating with engineering on interfacing requirements and data flow
• Build field support models including tiering structures, SLAs, and feedback loops to R&D
• Establish instrumentation and reporting for device and platform usage metrics, building dashboards used for commercial account decisions
• Monitor deployed sites for utilization patterns, workflow breakdowns, and technical friction to enable early intervention
• Translate deployment and utilization data into commercial strategy inputs and contribute to planning initiatives
• Manage contract manufacturing and external design partners including statements of work, build plans, cost management, yield optimization, and quality assurance
• Drive accessory and device improvement roadmaps with partners from requirements through design transfer and verification
• Own build planning and inventory management across demo programs, clinical studies, and commercial deployments
• Support execution of clinical validation studies demonstrating performance and clinical utility with clear commercialization endpoints
• Provide operational and technical support to clinical studies including site activation, device logistics, and data integrity oversight
• Monitor clinical data collection and flag when sites drift from protocol requirements
• Provide real-world usage insights to inform algorithm and application development priorities
• Identify data collection opportunities supporting algorithm improvements and indication expansion
• Advise on product roadmap decisions where deployment feasibility, manufacturability, or clinical utilization are gating factors

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
• 8+ years of experience in medical devices, digital health, clinical engineering, healthcare technology, or related technical environments
• Demonstrated experience leading technical deployments, implementations, or integrations within hospitals or health systems
• Direct experience working with hospital stakeholders including clinicians, clinical engineering/biomed teams, IT departments, information security, and research teams
• Strong analytical skills with proven experience developing metrics, dashboards, and data-driven reporting tools to monitor performance and support business decisions
• Working knowledge across hardware, software, and clinical workflows with ability to communicate effectively with specialized teams in each domain
• Experience developing and implementing operational processes in environments where infrastructure is still being built
• Demonstrated ability to independently scope problems, identify solutions, make decisions, and drive workstreams to completion
• Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with ability to translate technical information for clinical, commercial, and operational audiences
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams with competing priorities in fast-paced environments
