Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential European aerospace organization building critical defense capabilities. This is a rare opportunity to establish and lead UK supply chain operations for a fast-moving, mission-driven program working on nationally significant projects.

We're seeking a Head of Supply Chain to build procurement infrastructure from the ground up, owning sourcing strategy for complex flight hardware in a highly regulated environment. You'll work directly with engineering leadership and shape how the organization secures and manages critical suppliers across propulsion systems, precision components, and defense-grade subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Establish and own the UK supply chain function for advanced aerospace hardware, building secure and resilient procurement operations aligned with defense acquisition requirements
• Lead sourcing and contracting for long-lead, highly regulated components including propulsion subsystems, flight-critical electronics, military-grade avionics, and precision fabrication
• Develop and qualify a trusted supplier network across advanced materials, specialist manufacturing, and high-performance systems while managing export controls and security protocols
• Negotiate commercial agreements balancing cost, schedule, compliance, and national security constraints within UK defense frameworks
• Build supplier onboarding, audit, and performance management systems consistent with aerospace quality standards and future AS9100 certification pathways
• Partner closely with engineering to translate technical requirements into procurement strategies, managing configuration changes and rapid iteration cycles
• Create operational infrastructure including processes, documentation discipline, supplier risk management, and procurement tools for a scaling defense organization
• Serve as primary interface for controlled components, export considerations, and sensitive supply pathways, ensuring resilience against geopolitical and regulatory disruption

What We're Looking For

• Proven aerospace or defense supply chain leadership experience with ownership of complex, high-consequence hardware programs
• Direct experience sourcing long-lead propulsion-adjacent systems, flight-critical electronics, and military-grade subsystems in tightly regulated environments
• Strong working knowledge of export control and UK national security frameworks, with demonstrated compliance instincts and discretion
• Track record building supplier networks from scratch or transforming early-stage procurement functions into disciplined, scalable operations
• Commercial acumen combined with technical literacy—able to challenge engineering assumptions while protecting schedule and cost integrity
• Composure under pressure with ability to secure critical supply in constrained markets where reliability and availability drive decisions
• Comfort operating in small, high-performance teams where supply chain execution directly determines mission success
• Motivation to contribute to sovereign capability development and deliver on nationally significant defense objectives
