Finance & AI Automation Intern (Remote Full-time)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded data quality technology company serving Fortune 500 clients across entertainment, retail, real estate, food delivery, gaming, and financial services. Our client operates a multi-entity structure across Belgium and the United States, and their small finance team maintains accuracy across three companies, two currencies, and multiple accounting systems.

They are hiring a Finance & AI Automation Intern to run core finance processes and systematically automate manual work using AI tools and smart design. This is a remote full-time position based in Germany, working European business hours.

Responsibilities

• Execute core finance operations: invoice processing, month-end reporting, payroll data preparation, expense management, and intercompany recharges across three entities
• Learn finance processes thoroughly, then automate them using Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub, or advanced spreadsheet solutions—selecting the right tool for each task
• Build reconciliations and controls into every automation to ensure verified output before handoff
• Create process documentation that both colleagues and AI agents can follow
• Support the wider finance team with reporting, analysis, and ad-hoc projects across Belgian and US entities
• Identify manual bottlenecks proactively and propose automation solutions

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Currently studying towards or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) and/or building automations, scripts, or advanced spreadsheet solutions—with examples you can share and explain, including how you verified output accuracy
• Exceptional attention to detail: you naturally spot discrepancies and won't sign off on unverified numbers
• Self-directed learner capable of picking up GitHub, MCP-based integrations, and finance systems independently
• Proactive mindset: you identify repetitive manual work and develop plans to eliminate it rather than accepting the status quo
• Fluent English, written and spoken
• Availability to work European business hours from Germany or a compatible time zone

Preferred:

• Experience with accounting software (Exact Online, QuickBooks) or ERP systems
• Exposure to Python, SQL, or API-based automation
• Prior startup or fast-paced work experience

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: €1,250 - €1,750 per month (pro rata of €2,500 - €3,500 for 40 hours), depending on experience. This begins as a 3-month contractor engagement with a clear path to a permanent role based on performance.
