Staff Product Manager, Machine Learning

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential climate-tech organization seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead their machine learning-powered vegetation intelligence platform. In this role, you will:

• Own the end-to-end product roadmap for a core ML-driven product area that delivers critical risk insights to enterprise customers
• Advance detection model capabilities and integrate outputs into broader risk prediction systems
• Drive user research initiatives to ground product priorities in operational customer decisions and ensure shipped features drive measurable field impact
• Transition the roadmap from scaling-focused to customer-driven while maintaining technical rigor
• Collaborate closely with data scientists and ML engineers to translate model capabilities into production value and define performance standards
• Explore feedback mechanisms from field users to continuously improve model accuracy and performance
• Communicate technical trade-offs, model limitations, and shifting priorities across product and engineering teams
• Contribute to broader product strategy to ensure your area aligns with overall company direction

Time Zone Requirement: Must be located in Europe (GMT/WET, CET, EET) or Eastern North America (NST, AST, EST, CST) with availability for 3-4 hours of overlap with European working hours.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of product management experience with a proven track record of high-quality execution and shipping velocity
• Hands-on experience building and shipping ML-powered products, with strong understanding of model development, training, evaluation, and improvement cycles
• Ability to discuss model performance and trade-offs directly with data scientists and ML engineers
• Experience pivoting from technical-led to customer-driven roadmaps, including conducting user research and translating findings into priorities
• Fast-paced startup experience with comfort navigating ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information
• Track record building B2B products that customers depend on daily, particularly products that transform data or model outputs into actionable decisions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to bring clarity to technical complexity
• Experience leading product strategy and roadmapping while building cross-functional consensus

Preferred Experience:

• Geospatial product development or GIS technology experience
• Complex data products, data pipelines, or platforms involving large-scale diverse datasets from multiple sources
• Machine learning products for image-based applications such as computer vision or image recognition
