Head of Quality Assurance (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential pharmaceutical organization seeking a Head of Quality Assurance to lead their quality operations. In this role, you will:

• Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to a QA team of approximately 6 professionals
• Drive continuous development of the Quality Management System (QMS) for regulatory compliance and operational efficiency
• Ensure adherence to GMP/GDP requirements and relevant pharmaceutical regulations
• Oversee core QMS processes including document management, deviation handling, CAPA, risk management, change control, complaints, recalls, and self-inspections
• Manage supplier and service provider qualification systems along with contract and quality agreement oversight
• Oversee regulatory submission documentation and dossier management
• Ensure validation of computerized systems
• Prepare for, support, and follow up on regulatory inspections and customer audits
• Coordinate reporting activities including management reviews, KPI reports, and stability reports
• Collaborate closely with the Qualified Person (QP), Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, and affiliate organizations
• Report directly to senior management

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate brings:

• Completed degree in natural sciences or engineering (Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Process Engineering) or extensive professional experience in related fields
• Multiple years of experience in quality assurance within a regulated environment, preferably pharmaceutical or medical device industries
• Minimum three years of leadership experience managing teams
• In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks including GMP/GDP guidelines and pharmaceutical legislation
• Excellent German language skills (written and spoken) and strong English proficiency
• Structured, responsible work approach with solution-oriented mindset when facing challenges
• Strong communication skills with assertiveness and confident professional presence
• Enthusiasm for dynamic environments and continuous improvement
• Openness to new challenges and demonstrated accountability

Pay

Compensation will be discussed during the screening process and is competitive for senior QA leadership roles in the pharmaceutical sector in Köln.
