Head Chef

Join Greene King as a Head Chef at our Larkfield, Kent establishment. This is a full-time position where you'll lead our kitchen operations and shape the culinary experience for our guests every day.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Head Chef to take command of our kitchen in Larkfield. This role puts you at the centre of our operation—leading a skilled team, crafting menus that excite our customers, and maintaining the high standards that define our hospitality. You'll work in a fast-paced, professionally run kitchen where your culinary vision and leadership directly influence guest satisfaction and business success.

Responsibilities

• Direct all kitchen operations with accountability for quality, consistency, and timeliness across every service
• Create and develop menus that showcase culinary creativity whilst meeting customer preferences and seasonal availability
• Prepare and cook dishes to exacting standards, setting the tone for food quality across the establishment
• Recruit, train, coach, and manage kitchen team members, fostering professional development and a collaborative culture
• Control food costs and inventory through strategic purchasing, supplier management, and waste reduction
• Enforce health, safety, and hygiene protocols rigorously, ensuring full regulatory compliance at all times
• Maintain standards for portion sizes, plating, and presentation across all menu items

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a Head Chef or executive kitchen role with strong culinary credentials
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate kitchen teams in a busy service environment
• Expert knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, cuisines, and contemporary menu development
• Deep understanding of food safety legislation, HACCP, and health regulations
• Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities under pressure
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities with a commitment to team development
• Relevant culinary qualifications or substantial equivalent professional experience
